About Me

Up Close and Personal

Hello all! My name is Aanyaa Khara and I am from Mumbai, India.

Ever since the 4th grade, I aspired to become an architect. My keen interest in magnificent buildings and
structures is like Einstein’s love for physics - everlasting yet enigmatic. As my exposure to subjects like
Physics, Chemistry and Geometrical and Mechanical Drawing broadened in high school, my inclination
towards pursuing a career in architecture strengthened. Having been a travel-enthusiast since childhood,
my trips around the world helped me acquire knowledge of historic as well as modern architecture. During these trips, I found myself interested in architectural photography. Click on the Instagram icon to check out my work! I believe that my passion and drive towards this field helps me stand out and will ultimately help me succeed.

Getting accepted into the Architecture course at Cal Poly has been a dream come true for me. Learn By
Doing, Cal Poly’s core philosophy, has been integrated into our course structure in a way that gives us a glimpse of working in the field. From designing wooden frameworks to designing pavilions and
shelters, I have gained knowledge as well as creative instinct about architecture. At this moment, on the
threshold of my future, I know I’m in the right place and the right field and I eagerly look forward to my
future learning endeavors.

Something I am enthusiastic about and would love to pursue is Sustainable Architecture and its abundant
benefits. With the technology and limitless resources of today's world, sustainability in structural
engineering and architectural elements can bring about a significant change to the changing climate and
impact the future generations in the best possible way.
